The recruitment process

Recruitment fills a vacancy in several stages:

  1. Identify the vacancy and prepare a job description (the tasks and duties) and a person specification (the skills and qualities needed).
  2. Advertise the post (internally or externally).
  3. Receive applications (CV / application form / letter).
  4. Shortlist suitable candidates.
  5. Interview and use selection tests.
  6. Make an offer to the best candidate.
