Circular Motion

Angular velocity, centripetal acceleration and force, and examples of circular motion.

An object moving in a circle at constant speed is accelerating, because its direction (and so velocity) is constantly changing.

Angular quantities

ω=ΔθΔt=2πT=2πf,v=rω\omega = \frac{\Delta\theta}{\Delta t} = \frac{2\pi}{T} = 2\pi f, \quad v = r\omegaω=ΔtΔθ​=T2π​=2πf,v=rω ω\omegaω is the angular velocity (rad s⁻¹).
