Numerical Solution of Equations & Vectors

15 min read

Locating roots by sign change, iterative methods, and vectors in two and three dimensions including the scalar product.

Locating a root

If f(x)f(x)f(x) is continuous and f(a)f(a)f(a) and f(b)f(b)f(b) have opposite signs, there is a root between aaa and bbb. This sign-change test locates a root to within an interval.
