The systems development life cycle (SDLC)
A structured approach to building IT systems:
- Feasibility study — is the project worthwhile (technically, economically, legally)?
- Analysis — investigate the current system and gather requirements.
- Design — plan inputs, processes, outputs, data and interface.
- Implementation — build, test and install.
- Testing — check it meets requirements.
- Maintenance — fix and improve after launch.
