Emerging Trends, AI & the Future

11 min read

Artificial intelligence and machine learning, automation and robotics, and their impact on society.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning

Artificial intelligence (AI) — computer systems that perform tasks normally needing human intelligence (recognising images, understanding speech, making decisions).
Machine learning — a type of AI that learns patterns from data (training data) rather than being explicitly programmed; the more data, the better it can become.
Everyday uses: voice assistants, recommendation systems, spam filters, self-driving cars, medical diagnosis.
