Inducing a voltage, generators, and how transformers change voltage.
Electromagnetic induction
Moving a magnet near a coil (or a wire through a field) induces a voltage (and a current if the circuit is complete). The induced voltage is larger with a stronger magnet, more turns, or faster movement. The induced current opposes the change causing it.
