Human Body Systems

13 min read

Digestion, breathing, circulation and coordination in the human body.

The human body has organ systems that work together.

Digestion

Enzymes break down food: amylase (starch → maltose), protease (protein → amino acids), lipase (lipids → fatty acids + glycerol). Digested food is absorbed in the small intestine through villi (large surface area, thin walls, good blood supply).
