|---|---|
| Road | flexible, door-to-door, short/medium distances |
| Rail | heavy bulky goods over land, long distance |
| Sea | heavy/bulky goods internationally; cheap but slow |
| Air | urgent, valuable or perishable goods; fast but expensive |
| Pipeline | liquids and gases (oil, water) |
