Averages and range
- Mean = total ÷ number of values; median = middle value (order first); mode = most common; range = highest − lowest.
- From a frequency table, mean .
- For grouped data, use the midpoint of each class to get an estimated mean (you cannot find the exact mean — the original values are lost).
