Wave properties, the wave equation, the electromagnetic spectrum, and reflection and refraction.
Waves transfer energy without transferring matter.
Wave properties
- Transverse waves vibrate perpendicular to travel (light, water); longitudinal parallel (sound).
- Key quantities: wavelength , frequency , amplitude, period .
Worked example. A wave of frequency Hz and wavelength m has speed m s⁻¹.
