Rates, Energetics & Reversible Reactions

12 min read

Collision theory and rate factors, exothermic and endothermic reactions, and equilibrium.

Rates of reaction

Reactions occur when particles collide with enough energy (activation energy). Rate increases with higher concentration/pressure, higher temperature, larger surface area, and a catalyst (lowers activation energy).
