Wave properties
A wave transfers energy without transferring matter. Key terms:
Wavelength () — distance between two corresponding points (m).
Frequency () — number of waves per second (hertz, Hz).
Amplitude — maximum displacement from rest.
The wave equation:
(wave speed = frequency × wavelength).
