Integers, factors and multiples, HCF and LCM, fractions and decimals, surds, and upper and lower bounds.

Types of number

    Natural numbers: 1,2,3,…1, 2, 3, \dots1,2,3,… (counting numbers).
    Integers: …,−2,−1,0,1,2,…\dots, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, \dots…,−2,−1,0,1,2,… (whole numbers, positive and negative).
    Rational numbers: any number that can be written as a fraction ab\frac{a}{b}ba​ where a,ba, ba,b are integers and b≠0b \neq 0b=0 (includes terminating and recurring decimals).
    Irrational numbers: cannot be written as a fraction, e.g. π\piπ and 2\sqrt{2}2​ (non-terminating, non-recurring decimals).
    Prime numbers: exactly two factors, 1 and itself (2,3,5,7,11,…2, 3, 5, 7, 11, \dots2,3,5,7,11,…). Note: 1 is not prime.
