Reproduction in Plants

12 min read

Asexual and sexual reproduction in plants, flower structure, pollination, fertilisation and seed dispersal.

Asexual vs sexual

  • Asexual — one parent; offspring genetically identical (clones), e.g. runners, bulbs. Fast, no pollinator needed, but no variation.
  • Sexual — two gametes fuse; offspring show variation.
