Retailers are the final link to the consumer, and they take many forms.

Types of retailer

  • Small-scale: independent shops, market stalls, kiosks.
  • Large-scale: supermarkets, department stores, chain stores, hypermarkets.

Large retailers often buy direct from manufacturers, cutting out the wholesaler, because they buy in huge quantities.
