Methods of transport

  • Road: flexible, door-to-door, good for short distances.
  • Rail: good for heavy goods over land, long distances.
  • Sea: cheap for bulky/heavy goods internationally, but slow.
  • Air: fast but expensive, for urgent or perishable/valuable goods.
  • Pipeline: for liquids and gases.
