Reproduction

15 min read

Asexual and sexual reproduction, reproduction in flowering plants and humans, and sexual hormones.

Asexual vs sexual reproduction

Asexual — one parent, no gametes, offspring genetically identical (clones). Fast; no variation. E.g. bacteria, runners in plants.
Sexual — two parents, gametes fuse at fertilisation, offspring show variation. Slower; variation aids survival.
